Senior Project Manager
ThoughtMatrix is looking for a seasoned project manager for a client-facing position with our fast-growing Web consulting firm. The ideal candidate must have broad base technical skills and display a talent for bridging people and technology.
The Senior Project Manager:
- Manages Web development projects and serves as a liaison between developers and clients/stakeholders
- Takes leadership role in driving projects and finding solutions to project issues
- Acts as the daily primary point of contact and project leader for one or more client projects
- Tracks, manages and communicates progress to clients and ThoughtMatrix management
- Identifies, documents and manages closure on project action items, questions, issues and risks
- Establishes baseline project requirements document and managing the change control process throughout the project
- Develops accurate schedule and cost estimates, and maintain schedule and budget throughout the project
- Understands, clarifies and documents customer-specific configuration requirements
- Works with development team and technical leads to understand and implement requirements
- Contributes in creation and maintenance of technical documentation and project specifications
- Provides leadership and direction to development staff for assigned projects
- Facilitates effective and efficient client and team meetings to further project process
- Contributes to resource management and tracking at the corporate level
- Demonstrated ability to track and ensure project margin/profitability
- Flexibility to adjust to changes in resources, requirements and deliverables
- Ability to manage subcontractors and partner resources assigned to projects
Required skills include:
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Acute attention to detail
- A high level of proficiency with standard project management and office productivity software such as Microsoft Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Basecamp extranet desired
- Strong ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong understanding of, and experience with, the Agile development model and methodologies, including Scrum, as well as traditional waterfall methods
- The ability to facilitate and lead work groups, and work productively with a wide range of people
- Experience with QA best practices, systems and testing
- Proficiency with managing complex projects involving one or more enterprise or open-source content management systems such as Adobe CQ5, Fatwire, Sitecore and Drupal
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of Web development experience in a project management role
- Prior experience working within a professional services (consulting) organization
- A solid understanding of common Web-based architecture and technology principles
- Bachelor's degree required; technical background is preferred
