ThoughtMatrix Launches Strategic Web Initiative for Team San Jose
ThoughtMatrix collaborated with the leadership team at Team San Jose to select and integrate a technology platform that not only supports today's most engaging and leading edge communication paradigms, but also offers the best opportunity to keep pace with the evolution of the Web. Based on the open source Drupal content management system, the platform integrates several custom applications while integrating directly with major social media and Web 2.0 tools including Yelp, OpenTable, Google, Facebook and Twitter. The site also features San Jose neighborhoods and what makes each one unique, as well as an event calendar powered by Artsopolis.
The Website is uniquely designed, with both meeting and leisure clients in mind, to provide real-time and relevant information about what is happening in San Jose and Silicon Valley. For the meeting planner, the site features a new "click-to-chat" feature with the appropriate Sales Manager, for live responses to questions about venues, dates and rates. For the leisure and meeting visitor, there is now more focus on user generated content from other residents and visitors — a new alternative to a typical destination Website.
"The new site is meant to be a different and creative way to celebrate San Jose in an interactive way," Dan Fenton said, CEO of Team San Jose. "Although we still have a lot of great content generated by tourism marketing authorities, we know consumers today want more advice from other users, so we've devoted a lot of space to giving them a voice and presenting San Jose in a fresh and dynamic way. This new site is an immediate extension of our unique service model where you can quickly find what you need and connect with our team to provide excellent service — all in one place."
The new tagline "Innovation Starts Here" is a descriptor for both San Jose as a destination and also Team San Jose, who were the first to combine the Convention and Visitors Bureau with management of the convention facilities. San Jose, often referred to as the capitol of Silicon Valley, is home to global innovators like Adobe, Cisco and eBay.
"You're going to be energized by what's going on in San Jose, plain and simple," Fenton said.
