Fidelity — PSW

“The Fidelity PSW engagement presented an excellent opportunity for us to utilize our team's BluePrinting and Tridion implementation skills.” – Chris Lucey, Account Director

Opportunity

In line with the results of its market study, Fidelity Investments' PSW business unit moved forward to redesign their PSW website in order to provide a better internal and end user experience. The main goal was to develop a information architecture and taxonomy structure that would address all the current features of the Fidelity PSW website and could scale to all the supported languages in addition to leveraging common branding and layouts across these sites. ThoughtMatrix was engaged to develop the BluePrint structure, information architecture, taxonomy and layouts in SDL Tridion and implement the PSW websites.

Solution

The BluePrint structure and information architecture ThoughtMatrix developed provides superior flexibility and reusability to meet the business needs of the PSW business group. The design templates were developed with the idea of reusing them across different language sites that may be rolled out in the future. All these were implemented in a highly customized version of Tridion to address specific features of the site, and the content authors and designers can keep the site current with new content and fresh with easy updates to the layouts. Finally, we trained the developers and business analysts at Fidelity on the CMS core functionality, empowering the team leverage the new capabilities to maximum benefit.

Results

By using an Agile development methodology, the ThoughtMatrix team was able to rapidly develop the IA, taxonomy, page and component layouts and seamlessly integrate them into the core system. Collaborating closely with the PSW business and IT teams, the project was completed on time and within budget. The PSW websites are being released to production in a phased approach starting with U.S. English.
