Opportunity
The AOC (the administrative offices of the California State court system) was seeking to create a uniform platform for publishing and maintaining content across a variety of properties including their public websites and several Intranet sites. Collectively the web properties managed by the AOC represent over 20,000 pages and serve in excess of 750,000 unique monthly visitors. A major challenge of the project was to efficiently migrate thousands of pages of content across multiple sites to a single site on a new content management system.
Solution
ThoughtMatrix's user experience team worked closely with their technical counterparts to create a new, unifying website design that was integrated with an easy-to-use content management system. Our teams audited each AOC website and developed a flexible and extensible web platform designed to support the current and future web properties from a single environment. The environment includes the integration of multiple legacy web applications, which optimizes the value of their previous investments. In addition to defining and implementing a content migration plan for over 100 content contributors, our team created a repeatable process for on-going web maintenance.
Results
The clean, uncluttered and contemporary design of the new website brings an innovative contemporary design matched with greatly increased usability. By integrating AOC's custom web applications and 15,000+ content pages into the OpenText content management system, the personnel and time required to publish new content to the web sites has been dramatically reduced. What's more, the responsibility for creating and publishing content was transferred from technical personnel to the content subject matter experts.
