Anritsu, a leader in the test and measurement industry, needed to develop a richer portal solution to better serve the needs of their global partners. They engaged ThoughtMatrix to create a new information architecture and web design to improve the user experience as well as develop the portal. A critical requirement for Anritsu was to maintain authoring in one environment while using MojoPortal, an open source portal product for delivery.
Solution
The information architecture includes a dashboard-style homepage providing quick access to key content including product details, sales support, marketing and promotional materials, online training, and videos. During our interview process, Anritsu's distributors requested the 'previously viewed' functionality, which serves as a quick reference to product information viewed on a regular basis. The design leverages the overall look and feel of Anritsu's corporate website ensuring a consistent brand experience for their partners. Lastly, the MojoPortal was developed so that Anritsu could leverage their TeamSite CMS to continue publishing content to the core website as well as deploy information that resides across both sites.
Results
ThoughtMatrix helped Anritsu launch a solution while meeting their business goals within a very tight timeframe. ThoughtMatrix used a rapid prototyping process for planning the information architecture, enabling the design and development team to expedite production to support the aggressive schedule. Anritsu had the opportunity to migrate content while ThoughtMatrix completed development of the U.S. portal. This provided their global regions with ample time to populate their portals with localized content ensuring a successful launch for their fall conference.
